The skin covers and protects the surface of the body and is continuous with the mucous membrane lining the cavities and orifices which open on to the surface. The skin has many functions :
It contains the tactile nerve ending s helps to regulate the temperature and to controlthe loss of water from the body, and possesses some excretory secretory and absorptive properties.The skin is diveded into two layers
  The Epiderms or cuticle and
   The Dermis or corium
